"NISHKAMA KARMA" as the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Geeta points out should be the basis of a any SHG activity. Ofcourse, in today's materialistic and rat-race world, this is a tough act to practise. However this forms the basis of any successful SHG activity wherein work motive should only be 'joy of giving'. A monetary return may not work as SHGs are usually strapped for funds. Also from SHG's perspective a 'low cost' approach to 'service delivery' makes sense considering their financial position.
