Hi Dr. Sawyer, I am a speech-language pathology student who has worked with preschool children in the past. I really enjoyed your article! Disfluency and stuttering are still relatively new topics to me (I am currently enrolled in a Stuttering course). As of now, I am familiar with word counts. For word counts, I have learned to obtain three 100 word counts, so I was wondering, is this different for syllable counts? If so, what do you recommend? Also, do you recommend syllable counts instead of word counts for children who do not use or have a limited use of multisyllabic words? Thank you for your time and for the information you have presented!
