Thank you for your question, Rachel. In this case, I would do a disfluency analysis of the child's speech in at least 2 different settings to establish a record of the disfluencies. There is no clear consensus on which disorder to treat first; sometimes clinicians will treat the disorder that is most severe first, sometimes a cycles approach is taken, and sometimes treatment is simultaneous. If you continue to focus on language, limit utterance length and complexity, as longer more complex utterances tax fluency. It is difficult to say what you should do because I haven't seen the child, but if stuttering becomes severe, you may want to focus on fluency therapy for a while. Jean
