Good question. Although teachers are often well meaning and want to help, they are also very busy and I hardly ever ask them to provide me with severity ratings. I trust the school age child to give me accurate beyond clinic ratings that are reliable and mostly in agreement with my own and their parents by +/- 1 number. I don't like to involve others in treatment who are not able to come to the therapy and that would be difficult for teachers. I will, however, meet with teachers to discuss what each individual child needs to succeed, provided the child agrees to this and often ask the older school age child to accompany me to this meeting.
