Hi Lynne, I am a student from West Virginia University's speech pathology graduate program. I think the overt celebrations of achieving goals is an excellent way to encourage the client and provide positive reinforcement for achieving their goals. I have a question for you regarding the hierarcy of goals you and the PWS develop. I read that once the PWS achieves one goal, you decide whether you should move onto the next listed goal, or insert a new goal that may be more comfortable or approachable. I was just wondering, if you do have to insert a new goal that is more comfortable to the PWS do they ever become discouraged that they have to insert an additional step that was not developed in their original hierarchy? Thanks :)
