Hi - great article. I use celebrations of success all the time, as I am a high school career counselor (who stutters!).You are so right- little things often make the biggest difference. Recently, when one of my students had raised the most in a fund raiser, I made up a special certificate for her, and went to her class and made a big deal of presenting it to her in front of her class and teachers. She is a challenging student, so recognition was sparse for her. This meant the world to her. She wanted a picture of me giving her the award (which cost me nothing and only a minute to make to show her mom . . . Celebrating with people who stutter is huge. I know. I remember the first time, at a support group, when I was able to greet the group without passing or crying, I gave myself an imaginary hug. It was a big deal for me to do that after hiding in covert-land for so long. It is so easy to notice our flaws and weaknesses - we do it all the time. It is just as easy to do little things to celebrate those "big" moments. Thanks for reminding us! ~Pam
