This is a really nice article Lynne! These methods give the client something to look forward to. Your methods get the client and their family involved in the treatment goals. The acts of positive reinforcement urges clients, even those who may be reluctant or skeptical, to continue toward their goal. Providing do-able steps is less overwhelming, and it allows the client to see the progress being made. Having the family of the client to join in on the celebration is an awesome way to encourage the client to continue.
