Lynne, Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I couldn’t agree more with you. Everyone is more motivated to accomplish a goal if they are aware of progress and change. I especially like the aspects of treatment planning you listed to help clients and families find and celebrate their “I did it” moments. Even when incorporating celebrations into therapy do you still feel that some individuals are less motivated or passive-aggressive about helping plan and implement therapy goals? Also, have you ever had experiences with parents pushing their child too hard to reach their goals? I imagine that these parents might not be happy with celebrating the achievement of each small step because they are too focused on the large picture. Thanks.
