Allison, It seems that you and the client have identified a clear end point, but while he may agree that the steps you suggested are reasonable, they may be too far 'up the ladder of fear'. Perhaps the two of you can come up with some steps closer to his current comfort zone. A few you might play around with could be: 1) giving his presentation to you only, 2) giving his presentation to you and one or two invited guests, 3) giving it to his instructor in the instructor's offices. You may get the idea--choose several steps (and the client can help out selecting as well as arranging them in a hierarchy of less to more challenging), and this may get the ball rolling for the two of you!
