Dear Pam, I am glad you find what I had to say about self-discovery meaningful. You know, I'm learning that the process is ongoing. Just when we think we know who we really are we find, if we remain open, that there is still more to know. We bump into aspects of ourselves we would rather not acknowledge, such as our tendency to be jealous or judgmental, then come to realize they contribute to the package we call Me, and we need to let them in. And we encounter aptitudes and talents we readily embrace. I'm beginning to see that what life is is discovery. And I'm very taken with how the poet Ranier Maria Rilke expressed that notion in few lines, "Let everything happen to you. Beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final" (from his The Book of Hours)
