Well, this is not so easy to respond to. What first comes to mind is the question, "Under what circumstances is the advice being offered?" If it is unsolicited, well, it may be rejected outtright, with the relationship you share with that individual suffering a little or, perhaps, a good-sized ding that could diminish your opportunity to be of help later on. All this is hypothetical, of course. /// I read an excellent book on the subject of advice-giving a while back by Karen Wiegela (spelling might be off) entitled, "How to be a Help Instead of a Nuisance," published by Shambhala Publications. Reading that might be a start! I realize I probably haven't provided what you were seeking, but I think reflecting on the process of giving advice may lead you to find the answer you seek. Best Wishes, Ellen-Marie Silverman
