Dr. Silverman, Thank you for this great article! Your advice is truly universal. You referenced Caroline Myss and Thomas Moore as saying that "the more clearly we see ourselves, the more deeply we understand our problems." As a graduate student in speech pathology at West Virginia University, I have had to understand who I am, how I study, and what motivates me. Once I figure out these things, I can know what the issues are that I will have when it comes to studying, test taking, and working in the clinic. This resonates in daily life as well. It gave me a great perspective on a way to approach the person who stutters' feelings in therapy when working on fluency.
