I really enjoyed reading your article. It provided me with a better understanding of how stuttering is perceived within an individual. Your story in the beginning and the analogy of the nesting dolls helped me really conceptualize identity. This is great insight for me as a future clinician to understand the strengths and weakness of an individual and to point out that stuttering is merely a characteristic not a defining factor. I never thought about how our narrow definitions and perceptions of ourselves can prevent us from embracing who we really are. Thank you for your insight!
