Yes Jeanine, Support groups are for everyone! I too had the same questions in my mind when I was new to the model of self help but now in last 2 years, I have realized that there is no age limit for SHGs. People who are in their 60s and 70s can come and share their experiences, and help the youngsters grow out of their shells and walls that they have created. By doing this, senior citizens can add more meaning and a feeling of satisfaction to their life. With children and adolescence, its a little bit tricky. If there are only adults in the group, a child may feel out of place. Same will be the case if a 20 year old joins a group in which all the members are above 60. So that is why I really admire Friends so much. So you have to make sure there is a right balance of the age groups or you can have separate groups for different age groups and then invite people from other age groups as guests! I hope I have answered your questions.
