Good questions! I think even really little ones can let you know which targets are the most important to them - even though they may require your guidance to articulate their needs. Parents of preschoolers - I think frequently inventorying their needs via a kind of 'What can I do for you today?' approach blended with a presentation of some things you think are important to cover in a session might work. The 'What can I do for you today?" piece can help you see what issues reoccur for parents, a place they might be 'stuck,' or where they just need more support and information.
