Thanks for your post. Great question. Yes, you could certainly try and lead a client to a topic/issue, or directly bring it up and ask their opinion RE: its relevance. If they disagree, you can explore why together. There's a great book called The Skilled Helper that addresses dealing with 'blind spots' and denial when trying to assist folks in solving problems.
