Hello, thank you for your question. It took me over 10 years to be able say: "So what if I stutter, it's okay!" It was not something I decided over night. It was a very long and difficult proces. It started with a huge breakdown when I was 15, because so many people made fun of me and because I hated my life. I developed anorexia and if I wanted to survive I had to learn how to accept myself. Those PWS who ever talked about this with me said that my experiences helped them to see that they are not alone. I believe only those who stutter can truly know how does it feel to be a person who stutters. I have never met a little child with a stutter who would ask me to help him to accept his stuttering. I only met one little girl who said that she talks like me but it's not because she would be bad. We talked about how stuttering makes her unique and that stuttering is not something we "do", it's only our unique way of talking. With best wishes, Beata Akerman
