Hi Alan - Thanks so much for the great article, and the reminder of the major role that self-image plays in our journey to fluency. I was hindered by fear and anxiety for many years, and it was only when I was able to re-frame what stuttering meant to me that I was on the road to recovery. I still remember the day that I realized that I (and only I) could decide whether stuttering was ruining my life/work or not. I had given that power to others. It was a defining moment in changing the control that stuttering had over me. The loss of anxiety alone has been life-changing, and I have been 99% fluent for six years. Thanks also for referencing the podcasts that Pam has done - I still need to listen to the first male! Hoping our paths will cross on one of your visits to the U.S. Blessings to you, and keep up the great work!
