Hi Chelsea, Thank you, so much, for taking the time to read my paper and provide feedback. When we venture into uncharted waters, we will almost certainly experience a degree of apprehension and/or self-doubt. It is important to recognise that such feelings are NOT confined to those who stutter. We don’t hold the exclusive rights to such emotions. :-) Having held membership of several public speaking clubs, I have long been aware that persons who do NOT stutter also experience fears of speaking before an audience. When I initially challenged myself by engaging in public speaking, I did feel uncomfortable, but I became progressively more at ease as time progressed. It was simply a case repeatedly treading those unfamiliar paths. The once-daunting public speaking role (that I had avoided throughout my life) is now readily (and comfortably) incorporated within my widened self-concept. Chelsea, I wish you every success with your studies. Kindest regards Alan
