Wow, Alyssa, those words are like a long morning hug that makes the perfect day. :-) You're right. So much has changed. If feels like there is a life BEFORE and a life AFTER. Yesterday I was at a meeting where public service (radio, tv) met up with the disability sector and I must have made an impression as all of them quoted me at the closing. Not because of me, but because the message I gave them that opened their eyes to help us to tell the world we're there and to show who we really are. It took me 27 years to find out I was not alone and to have some role models would have meant the world to me. I now hope they will do something about it so that more people will find that safe haven where you can just take that step back, be who you are and let go of all the should be, should have and should dos. At that meeting there were disabled stand-up comedians. And guess what, it was contagious. So I might just have found myself a new goal in life. :-) So please, help us to spread the word and tell your clients and friends about us. You might even like to come to our meetings, just for the fun of it and to meet some of the strongest, most amazing people. :-) We would surely like to meet you.
