Anita, Wow, you are truly an amazing person! Your story is such an inspiration to many people, including myself. I am a graduate student studying to become an SLP and am blessed to have read your story. It saddens me to think how stuttering can negatively affect someone’s life. You were so strong to endure the emotional pains of being bullied, laughed at, and ignored, and yet find the hope and strength to carry on. I have been enlightened by your story and will strive to provide my clients with the opportunities to become aware and involved in the support groups for stuttering in the community. As an SLP, I can build a trusting and non-judgmental therapeutic relationship with clients; however, I cannot offer them the deep level of support and love as you have received from the stuttering associations you are involved with. The benefits of becoming apart of these associations are astounding. Thank you for sharing! You truly are a ray of sunshine.
