Hi Esther. Thanks for your interest in stuttering. We need more SLPs like you! And yes, support groups are so important. Please read my replies to other people commenting on my paper. About what I would wish from SLPs, what I tell kids at youth meetings and how important it is to get to know each other better (PWS-SLP). I'm so happy to hear you ar taking a course on stuttering and that you have been to an NSA conference. There is so much to find there you cannot find on books! The feeling of not being alone is just as important for children and adults as it is for parents and partners. That's why I love the NSA conferences so much: everyone' there! I wish all the people around us would be involved in therapy. I agree with you that it would be helpful to have both individual therapy and have group sessions. To realize we are both different and the same. We have such different ways of stuttering, backgrounds and personal stories, it's great to meet and learn from others. And please direct all your clients to the nearest self help group. We're in this together, and a little help from friend, incl PWS and SLPs makes the world a better place. :-) Thanks for your question. That shows you really care. Happy ISAD! Anita
