Dear Debbie Your comment made very happy! I transcribed 12000 words there were produced between 1986 and 2005. In my opinion, this study of stuttered words produced through a time interval of 20 years, is one of the most important features of the investigation because allowed us to see the regularity of the disorder. When I isolated the stuttered words from every context and just looked at them without thinking about the linguistic, cultural, ethnic, and psychosocial variables and "interferences", it became clear that the manifestation of stuttering was quite similar for everyone, adults and children, males and females. This might mean something, right? This is why I felt pretty comfortable stating that the results pointed to a disorder in this unique and wonderful human ability called language. Thank you so much.
