I am an SLP graduate student at Syracuse University with an undergraduate degree in psychology. I am currently taking a Stuttering class. This week, I attended an NSA meeting for the Syracuse chapter. With the combination of your shared experiences and those of others from the NSA meeting, I feel that I am getting an inside look into the lives of people who I knew little about before starting grad school. I can relate to your experiences in that I once was undecided in terms of my career, and I found speech-language pathology to be the perfect choice. I do not, however, have any idea what it is like to stutter, or what feelings/thoughts run through the minds of those who do. Your story is truly inspiring and motivating to all, and I thank you for sharing it. My question to you is since becoming an SLP, have you encountered any other clients with a story similar to yours? If so, did your story help to change their perspective?
