Kathleen, thank you for reading my story and I am glad you enjoyed it.Some of the covert things I used to do were clearing my throat through a stuttering moment, fillers such as "ummm", acting like I had to sneeze or cough...I had to really learn to stutter through my utterances to become a more fluent PWS. As for overt characteristics--my stuttering primarily consists or silent blocks; however, when I continue to speak through a stutter I display word repetitions. I tend to do so a lot with my family because I am so relaxed and at ease, thus--off guard about my stuttering.
