I am currently in a Fluency course and your story really struck me. I have heard of SLP's that are PWS, but I haven't been able to hear a direct story of what the journey was like for them in getting there. Your story helped me to realize that those who are destined for a career like this will eventually get to where they are going. I'm very happy that you were able to pursue the career that held your interest for so long--I'm sure you're making quite a difference in the lives of those individuals you are helping. If I was a PWS, it would be a phenomenal thing to have my therapist be able to identify with me. It must be rewarding knowing that you can provide a first-hand look at one of the areas SLPs deal with--what an inside scoop! I enjoyed reading your story.
