Kelsey, first--hats off to you for beginning to take prerequisite SLP courses!!! I am so glad you enjoyed my story! I am able to pass on my sense of desire for success early on with my clients. Whether it is success in therapy or in the classroom or when answering the phone to say "Hello"...I try to instill in my clients that they can succeed. I really believe once my clients have opportunities for success it makes it easier for them to work harder in more difficult situations. They become determined to show me they can do it! I cheer my students on a lot--stuttering treatment can be so intense sometimes so I do my best to make it fun while practicing strategies.
