Thank you for sharing this story! I'm an undergraduate student studying at Northern Michigan University. I'm actually in a fluency disorders course right now. For our first individual project, we all had to go out in public and stutter in three different places. Two of the instances had to be in person and the other instance had to be over the phone. I was terrified when I was given this assignment. However, after I gathered all of my courage up, I began my assignment. It truly opened my eyes to how people view a PWS. It was amazing to see that some people were very genuine and others were completely rude. It was an eye-opener and I was very happy to have been given the assignment. Once again, thank you for sharing your story. I can certainly say I knew how you felt when you talked over the phone to this person. The person I talked to over the phone was also very rude to me and hung up the phone on me. It was truly amazing to see how impatient and rude some people can be.
