I'm a undergrad student at Northern Michigan University, majoring in Speech-Language Pathology. My class had a project in which we had to mimic a stutter to try to get an understanding of what it felt like for someone who actually stutters. We needed three situations with people we didn't know, in which we had to stutter. At least one of these had to be over the phone. I called a pizza place to order a pizza. The person on the other line was very rude and actually hung up on me. I was so angry at first, but then I started feeling more upset. I kept thinking that if I actually had a stutter I couldn't order pizza because someone would just hang up on me. Your story reminded me of what happened during my project.
