Thank you for sharing your amazing story. I loved when you said that one need not be a good speaker to be a good communicator. In the small work I have been fortunate to do thus far with individuals with speech and language disorders, I have found this to be true. For example, I have a client with severe aphasia who is an amazing functional communicator. It is truly amazing the positive attitude you show, considering the many issues with which you've had to deal. It's so important to hear stories like yours, as they make us remember just how blessed we are and that the ability to communicate is a gift. I'm sure that you brought this first-hand empathy and sensitivity to your clients during your years working as an SLP. Was your stuttering and the therapy you received for it a part of the reason you decided to become and SLP?
