In getting botox the losing of ones voice is only tempory as you, I am sure, alredy know but at the same time it is a daunting prospect when one needs to maintain ones work responsibilities which includes a lot of talking. I do not know how other people getting botox deal with this, but Diane Rehm, who works for NPR, has written a book about her dealing with SD and getting botox. It too took a while for her and her doctors to figure out the best amount of botox to use with the least amoount of downtime. I think her book is called Finding My Voice. She is a fantastic interviewer and has coped well with the SD. I take a medication to help control the tremors, it is beneficial but does not completely control them. I have not overcome all of thes speech deficits, but work hard to not let it keep me from being who I am and making the most out of life. Thanks for your comments and questions.
