My name is Carl Richard Kirkendoll, I am 9 years old. I attend school at Spaght Elementary in Wichita, Kansas. One thing I’ve heard about stuttering, through my family and my speech classes was, “if you slow down you will stop,” but that is not true. I stuttered I use to get picked on because I stuttered but I got over it. I became confident in myself and all of my abilities and this is how I stopped stuttering. Every time I was talking and I felt like I was about to stutter I slowed down, and I realized that I stuttered on different words so I could tell when I was going to stutter, so I said a word that would make sense(in the place of my stutter word)of what I was saying. It works, and then I kept doing that now I don’t stutter any more. I might still stutter a little bit, like every few weeks but not as often. Once again my name is Carl Richard Kirkendoll and I want to help you stop stuttering.
