As a former camp counselor yourself you have a great insight as to how much work and effort (all fun...well MOST fun) it takes to put a program as big as this together. We have non-profit status under a fiscal sponsor which helps. Funding was one of my primary roles. We were able to 'pay the bills' using a 4 tiered plan: 1. enrollment fees, 2. private donations.3. Competitive Grants, 4. Local sponsors. It also helps that most aspects of camp were put together by volunteers. It is a dream (goal?) of mine to get enough sponsorship for the program that the enrollment fees can minimal, just enough to show commitment. With that said, we were able to provide scholarships to 8 campers, 2 SLPs and 3 grad students. Now I get to start writing the grants all over again. Thanks for the questions, and if you have any ideas about continued funding I am always looking for possibilities.
