This quote is so powerful. I am happy that you found it and have lived your life in such a positive way. As I read that you did not have knowledgeable SLP in your younger years and you were constantly ridiculed, I can not imagine what you went through. You have such a success story and its inspiration to do my best with my future clients. Looking back, what was one of the best things your high school SLP did for you? Was it being positive? Knowing that she was doing her best to help? How did she show you that she was doing everything she could? Are you still attending therapy, and if not, do you just assume complete fluency is not the goal and you do your best to control your speech? When did you realize that you were comfortable with your stuttering? I can't even imagine the time, effort and strength it took for you to find comfort within yourself after everything you went through as a child. Again, your story is inspirational and as a future SLP we hope that all of our fluency clients can be as positive as you!
