Here is how I understood it. Dennis' group looked at the samples of stuttering families where he found a mutation in a specific gene being part of a three-gene metabolical system using std techniques. Then his group looked at a general population of US (?) people who stutter, and looked for mutations in those three genes. And in that sample, he found roughly 10% with mutations in those three genes. The questions are: What is the sample error, what could be the bias. And maybe a reference sample. How many % of the general population who do not stutter have one mutation in the three genes? Tom
