I agree with the importance and implication of research for a cause, but I believe what Julie is saying is that many individuals may focus solely on the etiology of the disorder. If assessment and management are not given the proper attention, it only prolongs the difficulties faced by PWS. I think this is true across many different populations of people with any sort of disability. With the emergence of research expanding on this topic, it would be unfortunate if scientific inquiry concerning effective therapy techniques was reduced. While I can't speak for Julie, that is my interpretation of what she has written.
