So just to be clear, you mentioned control subjects. Did you have to test a large number of non-stuttering families for the gene mutations? And were the gene mutations statistically significantly absent in the wider population? If you had a smaller control sample, what sort of things were they "matched" to compared to the clinical group? Of the people that stutter with the gene mutations, did you rule out any other impairments that could be the result of that mutation? Thanks for posting this information, it has stimulated a great discussion.
