Jana - Thanks for reading our paper and leaving your questions. I believe a child/teen who stutters best hope is their parent, and a parent of a child/teen who stutters best hope is a good professional. To not actively involve a parent in the therapy process with a child/teen who stutters - to me - is unethical. I recommend the reading of these two books that advocate for a parents active participation in the therapy process with children/teens who stutter: "Regression Therapy for Stuttering" by Dr. Jerome Halvorson and "VOICE UNEARTHED: Hope, Help, and a Wake-Up-Call for the Parents of Children Who Stutter" by Doreen Lenz Holte.
