I recently began working with a young adult who stutters and who also has autism. Part of his therapy will include the use of several visual supports to help him understand the techniques/strategies we are teaching. My question is in regards to the need to use visual supports and materials to help facilitate therapy, whether or not the client has autism. I think it would be difficult, for example, to hold a picture of something that you wanted your client to describe in front of the computer screen when utilizing teletherapy! Would you suggest emailing the materials you were using to the client before your session or have you found another way to use materials with your teletherapy clients? I appreciate you taking the time to answer and share your thoughts and research with us!
