Katie, Without the 8 months of follow-up with teletherapy, we do not believe that a 3-day intensive program would be effective. Our communication with parents during the developmental stages of this program, suggested that if we want both parents to attend, we had to limit the program to 3 full days. So it isn't as if we think teletherapy will be better than face to face, but it will offer a way to provide needed consultation with clients over time. I will add however, that I do think that asking a teen to bring a labptop to Starbucks and sit in a corner where the screen won't show, is better than seeing him or her in my office. They are forced to come out of the closet about their stuttering (which everyone already knows about but they don't want to admit) and subsequently gain some objectivity about the process.
