Hi there! I am wondering what you expect/intend your outcomes to be w/ a. the stutterer & b. the parents. I do believe the parents are important but often I think that parents need their own course prior to one w/ their stutterer in order to decrease the judgements made as to opinion, success, anticipation of outcome and to be in sync w/ a program. One is, after all, buying in to a "program" or a concept of treating stuttering. It does seem to be a 'safe' atmosphere (esp. when one grp or the other is still "hiding") in which the "whole" of stuttering can be understood allowing for treatment or self-treatment. You did not include what kind of "therapy approach" you would use; to me that is something important to know before I'd refer someone to such a concept (which is good!).
