Janet, I've read your post a couple of times and I am still not quite sure what you are asking/saying. So, I'll try to parse it and ask you questions. We have one primary outcome for the teens - have them talk more whether they stutter or not. Our goal is to help them to be be "fearless" speakers, since the more they try not to stutter and/or avoid speaking, the more they will stutter. Most parents who stutter have very little understanding of what their teen is dealing with everyday, what stuttering really is, and how they can help their teen. Because we (like you) believe parents need their own "program", we are requiring parents to come. One of us will be with the teen, the other with the parents. At times we will combine groups. We aren't offering a "program to treat stuttering", if you mean the behavioral aspects. That is not our focus. Look at our website. I'm pretty sure it explains what we see as our goal.
