One of the most amazing things that happened at the first FFP that addresses your question .we had a couple of teens who felt comfortable with their stuttering...in a spontaneous decision, we asked these teens to talk to the Parent Group. It was a total hit with both groups!! So we have added it a permanent part of FFP. But no teen is forced to do this...and that is the beauty of this type of program -.risk taking of offered by not forced. A program like FFP has people (kids, teens, and adults) who are at different places with their stuttering. While risk taking is encouraged and promoted, it is not "required". Some students need longer to take the step of speaking openly about their speech. As a clinician t is important to lead but not demand, and that is where we are...:)
