Hi, Julie, and thank you for your very nice comments! Yes, this was a major about-face for me, to come to the realization that speech fluency is not a prerequisite for life happiness. Those who knew me even a dozen years ago know how deeply involved I was in the quest to reach a fluent "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow. What I have come to realize is that this "pot of gold" - in a somewhat different, but just as valid, form - can also be found on the very ground on which we stand. Acceptance of self is so important, regardless of whatever our approach to stuttering therapy (or non-therapy) may be. Good luck to you in your important work.
