Katie, These scales work well with people elementary school age and older. I have even used this wording with some first graders whose language skills were strong enough to understand the concepts. Sometimes I will change the wording to better fit the client's level of development. Instead of 'comfortable', I might use 'How easy was it for you to talk?". Instead of 'successful', I might word something around how easy it was for the listener to understand the message. I use these scales in my objectives ot measure progress in therapy and also include them when writing benchmarks for IEP's. Thanks for taking the time to respond! Sheryl
