Alicia, There are occasions where a client may not be ready to address a concept, feeling, or perception on a rating scale I present. Then they are hesitant to use the scale. Otherwise, clients really seem to like scales. They are easy to use, provide concrete feedback, and are a useful way for clients to monitor progress. Thanks for your interest!
