My stuttering wasn't bad enough in my younger years so I don't know what would have happened if I got therapy when I was younger. I do know that eventually it got bad enough as I got older that I needed to do something about it. I couldn't do it on my own and that's when I was ready to get some help. The self discipline I have now probably does come from my boxing experience. It worked for boxing so I thought the same principles of practice and training would work as it applied to my speech. I think being disciplined to practice and keep moving forward has really helped me manage my speech.
