As time has gone on, I have found that I have let go of any control over my speech. It's like riding a bike, you struggle and concentrate at first and then when you get the hang of it, you don't even think about what you are doing. That is a good analogy of what I have gone through with my speech. Speaking fluently has become second nature. My confidence has increased as I speak the way I want to. I don't get knocked down by the little things that make it hard to manage my stuttering. I just let my speech go. When I do have a tough moment or a tough speaking situation, I quickly go through some self talk about what I can do first, second, or third to get through the moment but when that ends, I let go of those strategies and just let the speech flow.
