Hi Suzana, Your inspirational story sends out a strong message to other PWS that we should not allow our stutter to exclude us from participating widely on life's stage. I applaud your sterling efforts to increase public awareness about stuttering because it is SO misunderstood. But the stuttering community cannot expect national organisations to undertake this educational role alone – their resources are limited. I strongly believe that we who stutter should also play our part. Who better to relate our stories, than those of us who have encountered the issues for so long - very often since childhood? However, I fully acknowledge that the nature of stuttering is such that many PWS are reluctant (or do not feel that they have the confidence) to adopt a policy of greater openness and speak in public. Suzana, it was a pleasure to make your acquaintance (albeit briefly) at the 2004 World Congress in Australia. A great deal of water has passed under the bridge since then. Thank you, so much, for sharing. Kindest regards Alan
