I am a senior undergraduate student, and am currently taking a course on Fluency. I stubmled upon your paper and it got me thinking. I admire that you were so fearless in facing stuttering head-on. I agree with you in that I feel a lot of individuals--any individual, not just a PWS--limit themselves based on what they feel society thinks about something. It was great to hear that though you did not speak up in class, you took pride in your knowledge of the correct answer. When we hear about PWS in classrooms, too often it is that they are frustrated they cannot speak up; in fact, they can, they are just allowing fear to hinder them. I understand this is easier said than done, but it was refreshing for me to read about someone who decided to not let anything hold them back. To accept it, and to move on with greater ambitions. Thank you for posting this.
